Vintage Sewing Birthday Party
Today we are featuring a cute Vintage Sewing Party created by Christine of Pure Joy Events for her 7 year old daughter, which will sure to have you swooning over all the amazing details! When I first saw the photos from this party, I was blown away by all the creativity. From the wooden spools used as sign holders to the vintage sewing machine taking center stage on the dessert bar, all of the elements were seamlessly “woven” into a gorgeous Vintage Sewing themed event. My personal favorite elements of the party were the ruffled fabric garlands that adorned the backs of the chairs…how CUTE are those!! Christine offers her DIY tutorial for these on her blog. My second favorite element…that creative backdrop of embroidery hoops on the gigantic cork board! AND…I must mention the invitations! They were actual spools of thread that were custom-designed and hand-delivered to each of the guests. FABULOUS!
“Caitlyn celebrated her 7th birthday with a Vintage Sewing Party that was inspired by Heather Bailey’s Nicey Jane fabric collection. The custom designed spool of thread invitations were hand-delivered to each of the guests weeks in advance.
By the day of the party, the children’s playroom was transformed into a sewing room, complete with a hundred year old rotary sewing machine and vintage spools of thread. I created a simple backdrop by stretching fabric on embroidery hoops of varying sizes and hanging them on a giant cork board that was already in the room. For the center hoop, I embroidered the words “Sew Seven” by hand.
